Going to Parrot Jungle was an important part of our Florida trip. Mikki's old company, InterCon Systems Corporation used to be into environmental causes and even bred birds in the offices before its takeover by PSI . When Hurricaine Andrew went through Florida, InterCon sent money to Parrot Jungle to help them save the birds and habitats that were destroyed. Although there are no longer any birds at InterCon, Mikki still has CyberPink, InterCon's old symbol and mascot, C2, who was raised at InterCon from about 3 weeks old, and a Blue and Gold Macaw who named himself "BooGold".
While at Parrot Jungle, we saw many wonderful species of parrots flying around, and some in cages. We've reproduced some of them here. Please note that none of these birds are being exported from the wild anymore, therefore the only pet parrots you can get are hand raised domestics. This is preferable, since hand raised domestics are MUCH better pets, and no imports into the US is meant to discourage natives from capturing parrots out of their natural habitats.
